He was predeceased by: his mother Julia Burkholder (Frederick); and his sisters, Elizabeth Wolfe, Ruth Fenstermaker and Catherine Sceurman. He is survived by: his wife Anna Burkholder (Zachar); and his children, Thomas Burkholder of Allentown and Carol (Robert Leggett) of Vienna, Virginia. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
