He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ickes and Mary Ickes (Dumbeck); his wife Patricia Ann Ickes (Patterson); and his grandson Michael Scott Murtiff. He is survived by: his children, Melissa Murtiff (Michael) of Duncansville, Bernard Ickes Jr. (Lori) of Altoona and Michael Ickes (Lisa) of Altoona; his grandchildren, Shane, Garrett, Jarad and Emily; and his great grandchild Madelyn Grace.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona.
