She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilfred Anna and Irene Anna (Eckenrode); her husband Edward J. Smithmyer of Mary's Catholic Church; and her siblings, Richard Anna, Paul Anna and Jean McFague.

She is survived by: her sons, Scott Smithmyer (Cynthia) of Howard, Timothy Smithmyer (Lisa) of Altoona and Kenneth Smithmyer (Barbara) of Altoona; her grandchildren, Brian, Greg, Katherine Smithmyer, Adam, Ashley Smithmyer, Emily Graham, Elizabeth Strittmatter and Erika Leap; her siblings, James Anna of Patton, John Anna of Patton and Helen Rollason of Carlisle; and her close friend Charles Bohn. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
