He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey, Jr. Oswalt and Lorraine Oswalt (Stehley); his first love Patricia (Robison); his brothers, Dennis and Donald; and his stepfather Leroy Oswalt.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Smith (Leonard); his sister Twila Myers; his children, Gary Smith, Jr. of Patton, Sheila Bruening (Jeremy) of Mechanicsburg, Bryan Smith (Nichole) of Monongahela and Colrenna Smith of Altoona; and his stepchildren, Travis Myers of Altoona and Melinda Bressler (Chuck) of Bellwood. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
