He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Edward and Dorothy Margaret Akins (Rabold). He is survived by: his wife Donna Leah Wertz; his children, Alissa A. Akins of Brooklyn, N. Y. and Robert R. Akins II (Rachael Latini) of Idlewylde; his granddaughter Olivia Akins of Idlewylde; and his sisters, Janet Dollar (Wilfred "Husky") of Altoona and Deb Lingenfelter (Russell) of Milton, W. V. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
