He was predeceased by: his parents, William D. and Mary Mentch Sr. (Villani). He is survived by: his wife Marian Gates; his children, Maria Smith (Shawn), Francis "Woody" Buckreis, Kathleen Buckreis and Jason Mentch (April); his grandchildren, Donald, Alexandria, Brian, Kaylee, Emilio, Marisa, Aaron and Jena; and his sister Darlene Gottshall.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Santella Funeral Home (1106 8th Ave, Altoona, PA 16602). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mark's Catholic Church (416 6th Ave, Altoona, PA 16602).
