She was predeceased by: her parents, James Smith and Freda Smith; and her siblings, Danny Smith and Ellen Louise Watson. She is survived by: her husband Paul U. Knappenberger, Jr.; and her siblings, Emmit Smith (Lan), Glenda Chapman of North Carolina and Richard Smith (Karen). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
