He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lee and Mary Murphy (McQuillin); his granddaughter Heather Murphy; and his siblings, William Paul "Jack" Murphy, Lawrence "Art" Murphy, Norman Murphy, James Murphy, George Murphy and Ruth Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Murphy (Winkler); his daughters, Cynthia Hall, Mesa, Ariz, Nancy Udstuen, Spanaway, Wash, Sally, Kraig Diehl and Chippewa Twp; his grandchildren, Jessica Cramer, Jennifer Murphy, Danielle Sweet, Alexis, Erik Udstuen, Russell, Rachel and Roger Diehl; and his brother Ray Murphy of Greenville, S. C. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
