He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Bassar and Helen Bassar; and his brother Nick Bassar. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Bassar (Turek); his children, Michelle Merendo (Tony) of Center Township, Melissa Kozel (James) of Beaver and Michael Bassar (Darla) of Conway; his grandchildren, Matthew Merendo of Pittsburgh, Melanny Merendo of Center Township, Karsen Dalmaso (Griffin) of Manhattan and Cameron Kozel of Beaver; and his sisters, Stella Zinaich and Melva Malyak. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
