He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ellsworth and Hannah Marie Kerr (Costello); and his brothers, Charles E., Robert Putman and Martin E. Kerr.

He is survived by: his wife Verna Diane Kerr; his son Richard (Vicki Geer); his grandsons, Nicholas and Matthew; his daughter Karen (Stephen); his grandchildren, Jeremy and Grace; and also, Elsie Deffenbaugh and Linda DeLauter.
