He is survived by: his wife Janet Rawding McDanel; his sons, Sumner Rawding McDanel, Timothy L. McDanel and John C McDanel; his grandchildren, Lindsay McDanel, Christopher McDanel and Olivia McDanel; his sister Joanne Roberts; his sibling's children, David Roberts, Peter Roberts and Jennifer Roberts; and his close friend Wesley Young.
