She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex Basits and Evelyn Chiplaskey Basits; her former husband William Brewer; her husband John Kalakewich; her daughters, Pamela Pendland and Debra LaRew; her daughter-in-law Glenda Brewer; her grandchildren, Zachary Brewer, Nicole LaRew and Andrew Brewer; and her siblings, Alex Basits Jr. and Betty Jane Simpson.
She is survived by: her children, David Brewer, Nancy (Tim Matsick) and Scott (Patricia Brewer). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home - Belle Vernon (626 Broad Ave, Belle Vernon, PA 15012).
