Brenda T. Kilgore Obituary

Brenda T. Kilgore, 82, of Bellefonte, passed away peacefully at Centre Care Nursing Home in Bellefonte, PA, on Friday, February 2, 2024. Born on December 9, 1941, in Howard, PA, she was the daughter of the late Byron P. and Anna P. (Bathurst) Thompson.

Brenda was a 1959 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. She was a secretary at Penn State University, Jostens Printing Co, and HRB Singer before moving to Florida and becoming the Executive Secretary and Administrate Assistant at VAW. She retired after a total of 45 years in the work force.

Brenda was of the Christian faith. In her younger years, she enjoyed going out with her friends and dancing, especially at Mr. C's Disco Club. She loved to watch football on TV. Her favorite teams were Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers. In her later years, Brenda enjoyed getting with family and friends, talking about the "good ole days" and working on word search puzzles.

Brenda is survived by her three daughters: Barbara A. Kilgore and her companion, Donald Coder, of Milesburg, Linda R. Kilgore of St. Petersburg, FL and Cindy L. Heichel of Palm Coast, FL; one brother, B. Richard Thompson of Milesburg, and two sisters: Karen L. Tressler of East Freedom, PA and Janice M. Packer and her husband, Paul, of Milesburg.

Brenda is also survived by her three grandchildren: Carmen Burgess (Michael) of St. Petersburg, FL, Megan Volz (Howard) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Cassandra Heichel (Ishmel) of Palm Coast, FL and eight great grandchildren.
