He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Fickes and Peggy Fickes (Bowers); his son Josh McConnell; and his siblings, Ed, Barb, Boyd and Rob.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Smyder; his daughters, Aubree Zojonc (Ryan) of State College and Angela Miller (Justin); his grandchildren, Morgan Betz of Altoona, Nate Brown of Altoona, Rayna, JJ Jones of State College, Seth, Gabe McConnell of South Carolina, Ava and Wyatt Miller; his great grandchildren, Rylan Brown and Beau McConnell; his siblings, Dave, Ray Fickes, Darlene McCloskey and Pam Fickes; and his parents-in-law, Joseph and Dorothy Smyder.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Rose Hill Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc. (118 Rosehill Cemetery Dr, Altoona, PA 16602).
