She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard D. Byrd and Winifred Byrd (Burney); her husband Joseph M. Cherry Sr.; and her brothers, Ronnie and Richard.

She is survived by: her children, Joseph Cherry Jr. and Rachel DiAngelo (Drew) of Houston, TX; her granddaughters, Julia, Alyssa and Isabella; and her sisters, Constance Whalen (Michael), Donna DiEgidio (late Blaze), Deborah Janiszewski (late John) and Jacqueline Wilcox (Wayne).
