He was predeceased by: his son James E. Hynes. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary P. (Allen); his son Thomas P. Hynes III; his grandchildren, Thomas P. IV and Katharine R. Hynes; and his brothers, Leonard Devine (Elizabeth), Joseph Hynes, John J. Hynes (late Eileen) and Lawrence J. Hynes (Sue). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr Hynes' name may be made to the Philadelphia Fire Department Family Association.
