He was predeceased by: his parents, Joyce (Colquhoun) and Amor John Mason Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane (Jerreti); his son William R. II (Laura); his grandchildren, William III, Kylie "Ky" and Kaydence "Kady"; his siblings, Glen Mason (Diane), Amor John Mason (Maureen), Michelle Ryan (John), Jacqueline Masko (Michael) and Jeffrey Mason; and his sisters-in-law, Denise Jerreti and Diane Herman (Vince). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
