He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin F. Ritter, Sr. and Margaret E. Ritter (Clark); and his brother Clark A. Ritter. He is survived by: his wife Shirley C. Ritter (Simmons); his children, Jeffrey L. Ritter, Kristie B. Grier (Andrew M. Grier, Jr.) and Isabelle Condou (Jean-Nicolas Schoeser); his grandchildren, Samantha D. Grier, Benjamin A. Grier, Asher I. Grier, Holton M. Ritter, Eliana O. Grier, Zachariyah Z. Grier, Nevaeh B. Ritter, Ethan I. Grier, Emilien Sallard, Gabriel Sallard and Vania Condou-Schoeser; and his sister-in-law Carol A. Ritter (Kimmel).
A burial will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Kirkhoff Funeral Home (206 N Main St, Bernville, PA 19506). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joe's name may be made to the Washington Band of Annville, 35 North Lancaster Street, Annville, PA 17003.
