He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Neidig and Lillian Neidig (Dice); his siblings, Catherine, Bernetta, Ruth, Loretta, Charles Howard, Gerald and Carl; and his pet Maggie.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Neidig (Rhines); his sons, Earnest, Jr. (Donna) and Eric (Keri); his stepchildren, Ray Kresge (Tammy), Greg Kresge (Terri) and Lori Gehris (Mike); his grandsons, Luke and Ethan Neidig; his stepgrandchildren, Brett, Matt Kresge, Gregory Kresge, Shane Gehris, Dana Gehis, Alyssa Kresge and Shania Kresge; and his brother Allen Neidig (Judith Neidig). He is also survived by 8 step-great-grandchildren.
