It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Clayton Craig Snyder of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Craig Snyder, Sr. and Ceceilia Snyder (Pistorius); and his sister Victoria Snyder. He is survived by: his wife Elsie Eileen McGee; his children, Jodi Elizabeth Despoy (Joe) of Valparaiso and John Paul Snyder (Tawnya) of Punxsutawney; his grandchildren, Alyssa Clindaniel (Adam) of Valparaiso, Joseph John Despoy IV of Valparaiso, Blaise Dylan Despoy of Valparaiso, Kenadee Renee Snyder and Grady Paul Snyder; his siblings, Michael Snyder Punxsutawney (Donna) and Mary Lou Brown (Thomas) of Punxsutawney; and his sister-in-law Ethel Davis of Punxsutawney.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. (115 E Union St, Punxsutawney, PA 15767). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church (616 W Mahoning St, Punxsutawney, PA 15767).
Memorial donations may be made in Clayton's memory to the Jefferson County EMS scholarship fund.
