He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald B. Whitney Sr. and Katherine C. Whitney (Carl); his granddaughter Ciara; and his brother Richard. He is survived by : his wife Patricia M. Whitney (Mazurkiewicz); his children, Kathleen Schoen of Blandon, Steven Whitney (Karen) of Douglasville and Michael Whitney (Josie) of Muhlenberg; his grandchildren, Evan, Tyler, Zachary and Alexis; and his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Gabriella, Adelia and Avery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, 301 S. 5th Street, Reading PA 19602.
