He was predeceased by: his brother Steven J. Murphy. He is survived by: his mother Theresa L. Murphy of Rockaway Park; his siblings, Brian E. Murphy of Brooklyn, NY, Robert M. Murphy, Jr. of Rockaway Beach, NY and Catherine (Frank Amonte); his uncles, Harry E. English of Bloomsburg and Edward D. Maguire (Terrie) of Folsom, PA; and his aunt Margaret C. (Donald Edwards) of Benton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
