She was predeceased by: her aunt Katherine Stengel; her uncle Leonard Stengel; and her sisters, Marguerite Katherine Stuchel, Mary Virginia Cummiskey, Nancy Bernadette Shugart and Sally Ann Flanagan.
She is survived by: her spouse Corning Glass Works; her grandfather Golf; her children, Patricia Ellen McVay of Hickory, William Patrick McVay Jr. (Shelli Franklin McVay) of Fort Worth, TX, Maureen McVay McMahon (Kevin Edward McMahon) of Hickory, Timothy James McVay of Linville, N. C. and Kathleen Stengel McVay of Hickory; her stepson Allen Warren Dawson Jr. (Beverly Wenzel Dawson) of Chapel Hill, N. C; her grandchildren, Elisabeth Catherine Bokhoven of Hickory and Willem Dirck Gijsbertus Bokhoven; and also, Executive Vice President, Siecor Chairman and Allen Dawson. She is also survived by her children as well as an energetic and fun-loving grandmother who delighted in her grandchildren.
Donations may be made in Mrs. Dawson's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
