He was predeceased by: his parents, C. P. "Bud" and Ethel B. Edel (Story); his spouse Helen Edel (Lyons); and his brothers, Fred "Butch" Edel and Lamont "Monty" Edel.
He is survived by: his children, Jane Edel of Erie, Jan Fox (Perry) of Stahlstown and Thomas Edel (Janet) of Trappe; his siblings, Kay Bessenhopper (Len) of Reno, Jacqueline Savacool (Richard) of Houston and Jay Edel (Mary Lea) of Emporium; his grandchildren, Angela Wencil, Melissa McFeely, Emily Edel-Keith, Sarah Edel-Keith, Matthew Edel and Kristen Edel; and his great grandchildren, Ava McFeely, Carter McFeely, Sydney McFeely, Harper McFeely and Nikolas Wencil.
