He was predeceased by: his mother Betsy Carroll; and his brother James P. Carroll. He is survived by: his wife Christine V. Carroll (Brosko); his stepchildren, Ashley M. Jameison, Brooke E. Jameison and Ryan P. Jameison; his father James "Breeze" Carroll Jr.; and his sister Lara Overk (Ken).
