He is survived by: his wife Irene Lincoln Friel; and his children, Patrick Friel (Barbara), Elizabeth George (Jeff), Daniel Friel, Maureen DeHaven (Glenn) and Eileen McGarvey (Jim). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
