He is survived by: his wife Maxine Gibbs; his children, Essence, Andre, Mason, Evin and Ellis Gibbs; his children-in-law, Jazmyn, Nicole and Shealyn Gibbs; his grandchildren, Nolan, Paige, Gideon, Cameron, Ethan and Solomon Gibbs; his aunts, Lydia Johnson and Barbara Williams (Brown); and his uncle Hugh Buchanan. He is also survived by his cousins, aunts, and uncles.
