Karen Whetzel Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen Whetzel of Brownsville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Ritz and Mary Lee Ritz. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Taylor (Matthew) and Shane (Delaney); her great grandchildren, Easton, Maverick and Stevie Jean; and her children, Andrea Townsend Roebuck (Skooter) and David Townsend (Patty).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Skirpan Funeral Home Inc. (135 Park St, Brownsville, PA 15417). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Skirpan Funeral Home (135 Park St, Brownsville, PA 15417).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Magee-Womens Research Institute (mageewomens.org/support-us/donate) or a charity of choice in remembrance of Karen.
