He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Arthur and Anna Mae Carlson Besides (Vance); and his mother-in-law Dorothy Karlyak. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen E. Carlson (Karlyak); his pets, Willie and Molly; his sister-in-law Joyce Sobek (Stanley); and his sibling's children, Juliann Braddock (Alex) and Jonathan "Mush" Sobek.
