He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross S. Covert and Effie Covert (Ploof); his siblings, Arthur, Harold, Paul Covert, Ray, Maire Reott, Francis Osche and Mary Orra; his parents-in-law, Ralph and Eula McPherson; and his grandson Ivan James.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Covert (McPherson) of Butler; and his children, Mark Covert, Todd Covert (Dana), Ross Covert, Linda Hilgar (Dale), Charlotte Blankenship (Edward), Diane Savage (Craig), Darlene Thomas (Don) and Marlene Davis (David).
