He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred W. Holmes, Sr. and Grace Holmes (Blair); and his grandfather Fred Wilson Holmes, Jr.. He is survived by : his wife Geraldine T. Holmes (Kler); his children, Deborah Neigh (John) of Butler and Rodney Holmes (Sandra) of Washington Co; and his stepbrother Gordon Holmes. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. (124 E North St, Butler, PA 16001).

He always made me feel important and loved and valued – even when he no longer knew who I was – his kindness and interest in others were stronger than Alzheimer's disease.
