He was predeceased by: his parents, Attorney Roland E. Winkelmann and Gail Gaunt Winkelmann. He is survived by: his wife Helen Janosik Winkelmann of Gettysburg; his children, Anne Louise Winkelmann of Atlanta, GA, Richard Janosik Winkelmann (Cynthia) of Gettysburg, David Janosik Winkelmann (Heather) of Fairfield, CT and James Gaunt Winkelmann (Hillary) of Richmond, VA.; and his grandchildren, Abigail, Lily Winkelmann, Madeleine, Thomas Winkelmann, Vivian and Henry Winkelmann.
In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests that donations in John's name be made to any of the following organizations: St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church; Gettysburg College Helen J. Winkelmann Endowed Scholarship; Nature Conservancy, and National Audubon Society.
