He was predeceased by: his sisters, Marsha D. Stamatakis, Carrie Conis and Katherine Georges. He is survived by: his parents, Nick Diakakis and Penelope Matsakis Diakakis; his spouse Katy Balsami; his daughters, Penelope "Penny" Casella, Larry Alberty and Jacqueline Alberty (Jackie); and his grandchildren, Anthony Casella, Nina Casella, John, Anastasia and Gabrielle Alberty. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Tony's memory.
