He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmanuel Anthou and Aglaia Kladitis Anthou; and his brother Sam Anthou. He is survived by: his wife Joan Marie Saffron Anthou; his children, Manuela Anthou of Canonsburg, David A. Anthou (Jennifer) of Key West and Dr. Gregory E. Anthou of Sarasota, Florida; his grandchildren, David Adam, Angelo John, Greyson Emmanuel, Gavin Iorgos, Anastasia Rose and Margo Paraskevi; and his sisters, Despina Austin of Pittsburgh and Maria McCrady (Merrill) of Oakmont. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Due to uncertainties associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation and services are private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, or a charity of one's choice, in George E. Anthou's memory.
