He is survived by: his wife Karen Lee Susack Thompson; his son Joseph S. Thompson (James Gavel) of Beechview; his daughter-in-law Lisa Gehrlein (Dennis); his grandchildren, John Thompson III, Luke Thompson, Molly Thompson and Tad Thompson; his nephew Matthew Williamson (Heather); and his niece Lynda Thompson (Wayne).
