He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert C. Hixon and Marjorie Lerch Hixon. He is survived by: his wife Mary C. Danley; his daughters, Summer (Joshua Voelker) of Canonsburg and Allison Kasper (Troy) of Canonsburg; his grandchildren, Willa Voelker and Leo Kasper; and his siblings, Bruce Hixon of South Park and Linda Martin of Washington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Association.
