He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Porter and Adeline Magnetta Porter; his wife Estella Solomon; his son Dr. Brian Porter (Angel) of Louisville, KY; his grandsons, James and Noah Porter; and his sibling's children, Donald Zimak (Doreen), Daniel Solomon (Amber) and Mary McDonald (Stephen).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all those attending the service must wear a mask.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Wounded Warrior Project.
