She was predeceased by: her parent Albert Carpenter; her daughter Vonda Burts; her former husband Walter Posten; and her siblings, Dwayne, Carl, Albert, Walter, Elwin Carpenter, Helen Chase and Ellamae Campbell.

She is survived by: her parent Elsie Mumford Carpenter; her daughter Michelle Posten (John Yelton) of Panama City; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Randy Jr. and Shyann Darling; and her great grandchildren, Melani Arteaga and Christian Arteaga. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
