He was predeceased by: his parents, John Getzie and Mary Chup Getzie; and his siblings, John, Joseph, Nicholas Getzie, Helen Misihowski and Dorothy Huniyak.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Bowell; his son Peter Von Getzie (Rahat Quli) of Hershey, PA; and his grandchildren, Wolfgang, Tariq and Vladimir Von Getzie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
