With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shirley J. Gatto of Carbondale, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Shirley left this world on June 3, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph F. Gatto; her mother Charlotte Leonard Lentz; and her siblings, Herbert, David Lentz, Carol Nepa, Joan Testa and Linda Lentz.
She is survived by: her children, Regina Luchonok (Nicholas) of Forest City, PA, Denise Gatto of Bethlehem, PA, Joseph Gatto (Linda) of Kingston, PA and Louis Gatto of Carbondale, PA; and her grandchildren, Lindsey Luchonok, Nicholas Luchonok, Jr., Max Gatto and Riley Gatto. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. (89 Farview St, Carbondale, PA 18407). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (15 Fallbrook St, Carbondale, PA 18407). A burial will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 10:45 AM to 11:30 AM at the Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery (400 PA-106, Greenfield Township, PA 18407).
