It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor P. Smith of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, born in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 21, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Edward and Mary Emma Hoffer (Wilson); her husband Gerald C. Smith; her children, Susan George, Cheryl Smith (Wilson) and James Smith; and her siblings, James E. Jr., Leonard Hoffer and Helen Knupp.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia A. George (Dale Jr.) of Carlisle and William J. Smith (Judy) of Carlisle; her grandchildren, Phillip George (Sarah) of Mechanicsburg, Timothy George (Samantha) of Carlisle, David Smith (Katrina) of Chambersburg, Alysia Griffith (Edward) of Carlisle and Allison Whitticar (Maxwell) of Leesburg, VA; her great grandchildren, Carter, Henry, Daniel, Kaylin, Jacob, Natalie, Alyvia and Addison; her stepgreat-granddaughter Tiffany Rasmussen (Jared); her sisters, Clara "Sis" Weimer of Ligonier, Betty Warren (Gerald) of Ligonier and Lois "Eileen" Goodman (Ted) of Ligonier; her children-in-law, John Wilson of Conway, MA, Thomas George of West Boylston, MA and Brenda Smith of Mt. Holly Springs; her sister-in-law Geraldine Hoffer of Ligonier; and also, James, Aaron and Henry of Shippensburg.
