Margaret Shirley Obituary
Margaret Jo Cotten Shirley of Carlisle, Pennsylvania passed away Friday, November 7, 2025 at the age of 82.
Margaret was born July 29, 1943 in Stamford to Earl and Cathrine Cotten. She attended school in Stamford, graduating from Stamford High School. She then completed cosmetology school and worked as a hairdresser. She also taught Vacation Bible School, early childhood education and worked as a special education clerk.
She loved painting, crafts and gardening. Her best memories were raising her three children, Chad, Todd, and Brooke. Spending time with her entire family brought joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Cathrine, and sisters Kathryn Hesse and Phyllis Cotten.
Survivors include children Chad Shirley and wife Gina of Wylie, Todd Shirley and wife Stacie of Prosper and Brooke Black of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco.
