He is survived by: his siblings, Bruce Boretsky (Deborah) and Lynn Chabalie (Ronald); and his siblings' children, Andy Boretsky (Diane), Adam Boretsky (Elysse), Tyler Chabalie (Karissa) and Kirsten Chabalie (Joel). He is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Memorial donations in his name may be made to Sy Holzer Endowed Immunotherapy Research Fund at the University of Pittsburgh, UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation or Lymphoma Society.
