He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter K. Horst and A. Harriette Bikle Horst; and his brother Philip R. Horst. He is survived by : his wife Frances E. "Fran" Justice Horst; his children, Justin "Gus" Horst of Shippensburg, Becky Horst Bedell (Mike) of Sharpsburg, GA and Bradford Horst (Kourtney) of Chambersburg; his grandchildren, Palmer, Michaela and Hayden Horst; and his siblings, Robert B. Horst (Linda) of Ocean Pines, MD, Mathilda Horst of Florida and Maryann Naugle (Mike) of Fayetteville.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. (112 W King St, Shippensburg, PA 17257). A masonic service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 7:45 PM at the Orrstown Lodge #262. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. (112 W King St, Shippensburg, PA 17257).

Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Lutheran Church, 34 E. Orange St., Shippensburg, PA 17257 or to a charity of one's choice.
