He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Mary Emmons (Calvert); his brother-in-law Gary Faust; his parents-in-law, Martha Karper Stepler and Paul Theodore Stepler; and his stepmother-in-law Beverly Parson Stepler.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his son John Henry Emmons (Jennifer); his grandsons, Bryce Jarrett and Karter John Emmons; his sister Carolyn Rossman Faust; his siblings-in-law, Carl Lee Stepler and Brenda Lee Morton; and his friend Lizzie. He is also survived by niece, two nephews.
