He was predeceased by: his mother Lilly Belle Thomas; his grandmother Bernice Davis; and his brother Eric Jones. He is survived by: his father Robert Lee Davis of Quitman, GA; his children, Deidra Jones, Ashley Evans and Darnell McLean; his grandson TyQuarias McLean; his sister Amy Jones-Williams; his nephews, Jonathan, Joseph and Jeremy Moore; his close friend Lisa Gardner; and his niece Georgia.
