He was predeceased by : his parents, E. Arden James and Dorothy James (Martin); his stepfathers, Blaine Foust and Audley Atkin; and his brother-in-law Dale DeHart.
He is survived by : his wife Linda Smith James; his children, Richard Arden James, Jr. (Karyn Armstrong) of Petersburg, TN, Joni James Davenport (David) of Conneaut Lake, PA, Ronald Arlen James (Mary) of Conneaut Lake, PA and Trudi Lin James of Sutton, WV; his grandchildren, Whitney Pardue (Jennifer) of Charleston, SC, Lauren James (Sebastian Czyz) of Fairborn, OH, Christine James Sweeney (Brendan) of St. Paris, OH, Julie James Davis (Cory) of Edinboro, PA, Haley James (Dylan Stallsmith), Andrew Davenport (Shelby) of Winnemucca, NV, Benjamin Davenport of Conneaut Lake, PA, Wesley Davenport of Conneaut Lake, PA and Jesse Davenport of Conneaut Lake, PA; his great grandchildren, Harper Pardue of Charleston, SC, Blake Davis of Edinboro, PA, Claire Sweeney of St. Paris, OH and Harper Davenport of Winnemucca, NV; and his sisters, Nancy DeHart, Janet Moyer (Don) and Janice Uzarski (Gerald). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
