He was predeceased by: his spouse Clare M. Mattern (Rosenberger). He is survived by: his children, Janet Spaulding (Greg), Patty Kessler (Dennis), Mary Clare Gerlowski (Tom), Edward J. Mattern III (Carol), Margie Mattern, Alane Haney (Harold) and Jim Mattern (Paula); and his siblings, Maryann Burford and Paul Mattern (Carol). He is also survived by father and grandfather, he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
