He is survived by: his children, Louis Gendle, Jr. (Candius Caulder), Diane Fornear (Paul), Kathy Spotti (Roland), Stacey Ramolt (Richard), Heather Gialloreto (Nicholas), Ashley Thiel (Kevin) and Michael Gendle (Samantha Sprague); and his siblings, Lora Filipovits, Carl, Jr., Glenn Gendle and Christine Hiltigen. He is also survived by grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lou's name to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, PGH, PA 15205.
