He is survived by: his wife Sara Sheffler-Chicka; his daughters, Patricia Kreutzer (Gary), Vickie Wagner (Barry), Connie Gutman (John Macinyak), Joyce Whittaker (Charlie) and Terrie Coddington; his stepchildren, Walter Sheffler (Diane) and Brenda Bitz (Kevin); and his siblings, Robert Chicka (Gladys) and Darlene "Dodi" Deskins (Harold). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
